Beautiful view of the Utah Forest where The Gifted Tree has planting projects to plant gift trees.

Dixie National Forest, Utah

“Between every two pines is a doorway to a new world.” – John Muir

Project Description

This Gift Tree Planting Project is in Dixie National Forest, Utah. The forest straddles the divide between the Great Basin and the Colorado River in southern Utah. Scenery ranges from desert canyon gorges of amber, rose, and sienna to high mountain forests, plateaus, and alpine lakes. The forest is a part of the world-renowned landscapes of Southern Utah. It provides a backdrop and serves as a gateway to surrounding National Parks and Monuments.

In 2012, the Shingle fire destroyed thousands of acres, predominately ponderosa pines, in this pristine area. This planting project will help re-establish fire tolerant forest cover on part of the Shingle fire footprint. Your tree species will be ponderosa pine which is an important species of tree for the wildlife in the area including elk, mule deer, pronghorn antelope, and northern goshawk.

tree would be planted among thousands of other gift trees and there is no plaque designating the gift
tree and visiting the tree is unfortunately not possible.
