The cost depends on the tribute design that you pick. This is the tribute card (along with the tree planting certificate) that we will send to the recipient. Prices range from $19.95 to $69.95 and include one tree. Multiple tree options are available for a small additional charge. Click on this link, https://www.thegiftedtree.com/gift-tree-tribute-presentation-options/ to see the different tribute options available and the exact cost.

The Gifted Tree works with well-established tree planting partners on six continents around the world to ensure your tree is planted as promised. These organizations have been doing this for years, and we have been working with them for years,  and have foresters on location to help with the planting of the trees. Some of us at The Gifted Tree have even personally visited the tree planting sites, and we will continue to make and expand our visits.

A Gift Tree is a sapling tree that will be planted in the forest location of your choosing and a meaningful way to honor people and pets.  A physical tree is not delivered, instead, you choose one of our unique card tributes or animated eCards to be sent, that you personalize with your sentiments, delivering a memorable experience. A Gift Tree is a way to create a lasting, living legacy while at the same time helping combat the effects of forest fires and climate change. The ultimate “green” gift, giving the world a gift, too.

The gift tree is planted in the forest location of your choosing. Unlike other gift tree businesses, we plant trees around the world, not just in the United States. While there are numerous national and state forest locations to choose in the U.S., you also can choose from 30+ other planting locations worldwide. No matter the planting location you finally select, the tree planting will help combat the effects of forest fires, disease and climate change.

A memorial tree is planting a tree in memory of a loved one or for someone close to you that has lost a loved one. A memorial tree not only can honor a person, but is a meaningful way to memorialize a loyal and faithful pet. A memorial tree is an epic tribute to a life well lived, and not only aids in the reforestation of areas ravaged by forest fire, disease or climate change, but also helps provide comfort to an individual or family at a time of grieving.

A celebration tree is planted to honor family members and friends celebrating their own milestones: Birthdays, Anniversaries, Teachers, Employee Recognition, Retirement, New Births, Graduations and Holidays. A gift tree fits every occasion, the ideal solution when you’re considering what to get to acknowledge these important events.

Yes! Whether you are looking for a special way to remember your own pet or if you are looking for a gift for a friend or loved one who lost a pet, planting a pet memorial tree is a wonderful tribute.

Your tree is planted among thousands of other gift trees and unfortunately it is not possible to have a plaque designating your gift tree, but an official register is maintained in our office. Take comfort in the knowledge that while your gift tree is not designated on the ground with a plaque, it does become part of the much larger forest ecosystem.

While the types of trees planted at a particular project are often listed in the location details, you are not able to designate the type of tree to plant. We leave it up to the professionals on site to determine the best tree to plant to achieve the project’s goals. Silviculturists (scientists who study how to grow trees) decide on the type of tree that will grow best in an area, and the best time of year to plant. The objectives of the silvicultural prescriptions for planting sites include the reintroduction of tree species that were originally in that particular ecosystem in order to improve the resilience and resistance of the forest to fire, insects, diseases, and the potential effects of climate change. For a more in-depth answer to this question, please check out our blog on the subject.

Unfortunately, since the trees are not marked and can be in very remote locations, some dangerous to get to, it is not possible to visit your tree.

It is possible, however, to visit the general tree planting location virtually. Information is included in the gift packet along with the certificate with all the details.

Yes! Advanced technology allows one to view the general area of the tree planting site using a personal computer, tablet, or mobile phone. Instructions for obtaining the map links will be sent along with the certificate package.  (A few of our planting locations, New England for one, are too large and it is not possible to view virtually.)

Your tree will be planted at the best suitable planting time for each project, which is typically in the location’s spring or fall. Therefore, depending on when your gift tree was purchased, there could be a gap of time until it is actually planted. This is being done to ensure the long-term survival of the trees as well as to accomplish the goals of the project. Please note: the tree planting takes place on the above schedule although we do not notify you at that time or send pictures of the tree. Also, The Gifted Tree does participate in large tree planting projects  in which case a gift tree planting might be assigned in the future from that project.

There is not one specific tree that is good for a memorial. The type of memorial tree planted should depend on the location of the planting. At The Gifted Tree, the species of memorial trees planted range from Oak to Eucalyptus, from fruit and nut bearing trees to large-growing fir trees.  The exact species depends on the specific needs of each region of habitat being reforested. Our expert tree planting partners know the best trees to ensure long-term survivability and bring the greatest overall benefit to the region.

Besides the personalized tree certificate, which will be displayed as explained on the gift options page, there will be an explanatory letter talking about your gifted tree, the importance of trees, tree quotes, and a link to find out more about the tree planting location and project. There will also be a unique seed tag included that actually can be planted, and which will sprout wildflowers! Instructions for the seed tag are found at TheGiftedTree.com/PlantMe. This link is also printed on the seed tag. Take a look at our tree planting presentation options!

Most of the time orders are mailed out the same day, but sometimes not until the next business day. The Gifted Tree tribute card certificates and digital eCards are not generated en masse by computer. Each one is “hand-done” with attention and TLC to make them look nice. You are using this gift to connect with someone important to you. It is important to us that it looks first-class and represents you and your family in the best possible way. It might take a few extra minutes to ship, but the result is something to be proud of.

Please make sure to check the personalization on the certificate for accuracy before submitting it. Unless there is a defect or mistake on our part, the gift can not be returned.

While a great idea, we are currently not able to provide a preview proof. Rest assured that making the tribute look top-rate is our priority. Each tribute is hand done, no computer generated print outs here, and we pride ourselves on creating a final product you will be proud of. If we have any questions about your order, we will give you a call to discuss before processing.

The Gifted Tree is not a non-profit organization, and while your tribute will help reforestation programs around the globe,  your purchase is not tax deductible.

While a nice idea, no notification is sent. Our arborists will determine the best time to plant the trees (usually late spring and fall) to ensure long-term survivability.
