Beautiful view of the Northern California Forest where The Gifted Tree has planting projects to plant gift trees.

Klamath National Forest, California

“Between every two pines is a doorway to a new world.” – John Muir

Project Description

The Gifted Tree’s planting project is in the Klamath National Forest in California.

The Klamath National Forest is located in northern California (with a small portion of the forest extending into southern Oregon) and covers 1,700,000 acres.   In the lower elevations, one finds park-like stands of Ponderosa Pines, while in the higher elevations, the Douglas fir, subalpine fir and mixed conifer stands are plentiful. Old growth forest is estimated to cover some 168,000 acres of the forest land.

With the Klamath, Salmon and Scott Rivers meandering from one end of the forest to the other, this beautiful “playground” is a haven for campers, hikers, wildlife watchers, hunters, fishermen, mountain bikers, white water enthusiasts and naturalists.
